ABOUT ME

Philipp Remus is a Stockholm-based product and industrial designer, originally from Freiburg, Germany. His practice bridges material research, circular design, and craft, challenging conventional design values through the use of natural and renewable materials.

Remus‘s process is driven by a commitment to responsibility, desirability, and the exploration of materiality. His current focus on wool stems from formative experiences working on a sheep farm in Chile, where he developed a deep appreciation for the material‘s singular qualities. This encounter sparked his interest in reimagining wool‘s potential, leading him to explore its boundaries and applications.

Remus earned his Bachelor‘s degree in Industrial Design from Pforzheim University, Germany. His work has gained international recognition, including winning the iF Design Student Award 2025, receiving the German Design Council Award (DDC Award), and the Bundespreis Ecodesign Award in Germany. His graduation project „Felt the Future“ was featured by Dezeen as a highlight of Dutch Design Week 2025.

He is currently pursuing his Master‘s degree at Konstfack University in Stockholm, where he continues to develop his expertise in ecoliterate design and material research.
